Human sacrifices were

often made in caves which were seen as holy cult places. Due to the rising of the sea level some of these caves now are flooded and sealed airtight. They belong to the largest underground cave system of the world, the cenotes of Mexico. Not only relics from the ages of the Mayas can be found here – also prehistoric discoveries and unique geological and biological phenomena belong to the fascination of this labyrinth. A dive can take many hours and even experienced divers get to know their physical limits.
Four research divers from Kiel, Germany venture into the deep and are accompanied by an experienced 3D film team.
